Primary School

The AISM educational program is based on best practices from American and international education, and from K to grade 12, it reflects the school’s commitment to educating the whole child. All children, K to Grade 8, study science, mathematics, language arts, social studies, art, music, physical education and computers. The program is that of a traditional United States college preparatory school. The curriculum follows general guidelines from the American curriculum, but is improved with an Macedonian and International taste.

The AISM - Lower Elementary program (K — 2) emphasizes language development, whereas Upper Elementary (grades 3 — 5) adds a focus on developing learning skills and habits that will enable students to transition effectively to grade 6. The grade 6 — 8 program is based on the developmentally appropriate Middle School model, providing challenging yet engaging learning experiences in core and exploratory subjects.

High School

The High School curriculum in the American International School of Macedonia is predominantly college preparatory and is similar to the United States High School. In order to obtain AISM high school diploma each student must complete:

All students can take up to 3 elective courses that offered from different fields of study.

All senior students at the end of school year must take graduation exams - MATURA. The MATURA consists of three parts: English Language written exam, project on a course taken during the course of study, and oral presentation of the project.
